A Bit of Background to Begin

I am a creative person by nature. I feel out of sorts if I go too long without being creative. It's in my blood, my genes, DNA. No seriously, I come from a large extended family and everyone is good at at least two crafts. It's a way of life for me.
Scrapbooking is my main love and joy, but honestly I've been feeling burnt out from it for a while. Scrapbookers get it: after a while, you feel like all your pages are various versions of the same layout.
So then in 2017 I bit the bullet and joined a planner group. And was hooked! A new creative outlet that was smaller, free for whatever I wanted to do with it, each month a new experiment, learn as I go kind of deal. I had a "blank canvas" version compared to my planner sisters, who had all opted for various themes they liked. And I ran with it. Boy did I run! It started as a journal, but quickly turned more into an art journal with selfies, words describing the week, stickers, drawings, doodling a, and oh so much Washi tape (another growing rapid obsession). I'll posted pictures of my 2017 planner in a other post.
Of course I was super eager to jump onto the planner bandwagon for 2018, and this time I fell in love with the same planner as a few of my Planner Sisters (our group name, we meet at least once a month at our Local Scrapbook Store and prep our planners for the month ahead, as well as finish up the current month, bounce ideas, enjoy the day). We chose the Julie Nutting Planners. It was beautiful! I bought many of the accessories for its well, which I absolutely adore, even though I'm not really a Stamper, per say. Well, wasn't a Stamper.....
Jump ahead to March, and my planner is basically empty. The months are prepped, the ideas are there for each theme, it's just what do I put in it this year? It wasn't until this weekend, that it finally hit me: grow from last year. Keep what I loved, improve what I liked, and try new things. In other words: EVOLVE
My Planner Sisters will understand why evolve is in caps. We've all chosen a word for 2018. A word to describe our year, the path we want to take. I believe we got the idea from the amazingly talented Ali Edwards.
I've also been opened to the discovery of Travelers Notebooks. O. M. G. We shall save that for another post haha!
I am so thankful to have you follow me on my creative journey this year. Stuck with me as I evolve my skills and stretch my creative thinking.
